TEMPORANEA: BRINK OPEN CALL FOR INSTALLATION ARTISTS & SCULPTORS

Deadline: 15th March 2011

BRINK is a not for profit contemporary arts organisation, based in the Midlands, UK.

We are currently viewing proposals from sculptors and installation artists on the theme of heritage and history for an up-coming TEMPORANEA exhibition that we are organising at Kenilworth Castle, which will be held from 7th-15 May 2011.

Site-specific works on the history of Kenilworth and/or the castle are welcome. If required, a site visit can be arranged for the selected artist(s).

Heritage and history may be interpreted loosely, but please take into consideration that the works will be on display to families and therefore must not contain references of an offensive or religious nature.  We reserve the right to refuse submissions that we deem unsuitable.

Works must be safe and preferably free-standing. As this is an English Heritage site, there are restrictions on fixing works to the gras /ground, and fixing objects to the walls is prohibited. Further information on these restrictions is available on request.

Details

To submit your work please send the following via e-mail:

  • Images or drawings of the proposed projects (you can send more than one);
  • a brief description of the work and materials;
  • artist statement and biography;
  • any eventual links to your work.

Unfortunately, we will be unable to refund travel expenses, insurance of the works, or costs for materials.

There is no submission fee. However, although we will do everything we can to acquire funding from our sponsors, selected artists may be required to contribute towards public liability insurance. This fee will be no more than £15 and will depend on how many artists exhibit at the show.
